UConn Men’s Basketball Scores Season-Opening Win Over Colgate,

Jalen Adams didn’t play but it didn’t matter much, as the UConn Huskies open their season in impressive fashion with a 70-58 win over Colgate at Gampel Pavilion.

Terry Larrier led the Huskies with 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting. He looked unstoppable from within 15 feet, displaying a nice array of moves to the rim and touch from mid-range. Graduate transfer Antwoine Anderson got the start in place of Adams and scored two quick threes on his way to 12 points—good for second on the team.

Two freshmen had solid performances as well, as forwards Tyler Polley and Isaiah Whaley were the next leading scorers with nine and eight points, respectively.
