UConn Men’s Basketball: Kassoum Yakwe Likely Out for Season

After missing the South Florida game with a foot injury, UConn forward Kassoum Yakwe is likely out for the season, according to head coach Dan Hurley.

Yakwe played 10.9 minutes per contest in 13 appearances, averaging 1.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game. He joined the Huskies as a grad transfer from St. John’s, where he was posting slightly better numbers as a role player.

UConn is now left with a shorthanded frontcourt rotation, and will be counting extra hard on Josh Carlton, Eric Cobb and Mamadou Diarra’s recovery process for strength down low.
