UConn in the WNBA: Napheesa Collier named Western Conference Player of the Week

Napheesa Collier was named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Minnesota Lynx to victory over the Wings and Aces last week. Collier averaged 18.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game last week. She is the first Lynx rookie to be named Player of the Week since Seimone Augustus in 2006.

The Player of the Week honor is part of an all around impressive August for the rookie. Collier is averaging 15.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.1 steals per game for the month. She’s also shooting 54 percent from the floor, 40 percent from three, and 84 percent from the free throw line.
