More than a month after the state of Connecticut ruled that the hiring of Corey Edsall - the son of returning head coach Randy Edsall - was a violation of the state’s nepotism clause, Randy Edsall and UConn are set to appeal the state’s ruling.
Based on the state’s ruling, no action will be against UConn or Randy Edsall so long as Corey Edsall does not return to the program after serving his one-year, $95,000 salary this season.
Corey Edsall currently serves as the Huskies’ tight ends coach and reports to UConn athletics Chief Operating Officer Beth Goetz.
