UConn Baseball took a tough loss to Hartford on Wednesday of last week but bounced back and swept Memphis in their weekend series to start conference play 6-0 for the first time since 1979, the last time the Huskies made the College World Series.
Following the strong weekend performance, UConn players took both of the major weekly awards for the American Athletic Conference.
Freshman left-handed pitcher Mason Feole was named pitcher of the week after throwing eight shutout innings against Memphis to complete the sweep in Game 3. He has started all three of UConn’s shutouts.
