The past few seasons, more and more players have been coming from UConn to the prestigious Cape Cod League. This year, eight Huskies have played in the league, the most since 2010, when there were 10 UConn players spending time on the Cape.
Tim Cate made one start for the Bourne Braves before heading to Team USA Collegiate National Team camp. He pitched five innings, allowing three runs on six hits. Cate struck out seven and walked one, and has pitched nine innings across four appearances for Team USA, allowing one earned run. He has 13 strikeouts to two walks, while allowing three hits.
