UConn assistant coach Kenya Hunter to take indefinite medical leave of absence

UConn men’s basketball assistant coach Kenya Hunter is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team to deal with a medical issue, the school announced on Wednesday. In his place, the Huskies’ director of player development and former standout UConn guard Taliek Brown will be elevated to an on-court coaching position.

Before coming to Storrs to join Dan Hurley’s staff, Hunter spent the previous five seasons at the University of Nebraska. Before that, he spent time at Georgetown, Xavier, and Duquesne, He was not on the bench for UConn’s sole exhibition game against St. Michael’s last Wednesday.
