A trooper was injured when he was thrown to the highway by an out-of-control truck driver on I-84 in West Hartford Thursday night, state police said.

The driver, Daniel G. Rapuano, 36, of Naugatuck, wasn’t injured but was arrested on nine charges, including second-degree assault with a motor vehicle and operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, they said.

Driver Daniel G. Rapuano was arrested after he flung a trooper who was trying to apprehend him to the highway Thursday night by speeding away in his truck while the trooper was on the running board, state police say.
