A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into the side of a pickup truck in Torrington Tuesday afternoon.
The motorcycle was passing a vehicle and preparing to turn left onto South Main St., when the pickup truck, traveling the opposite direction, was turning onto the street at the same time. The motorcycle then crashed into the passenger side of the truck.
“The male operator was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident,” police said. He was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and succumbed to his injures.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and has been working with law enforcement throughout their investigation, police said.
