Theft suspect found after he speeds by cop, flips stolen car, state police say

State police said they arrested a serial burglar Monday after they watched him speed by an officer and roll a stolen pickup in Stafford.

Charles Brandon Prince, 21, of Mirtl Road in Willington, was not seriously injured. He was arrested on motor vehicle, theft and other charges after the crash by the town green, they said.

According to the state police, troopers investigated multiple burglaries on Stafford Street in Stafford Monday morning in which Prince was a suspect; he had been identified through surveillance footage. Despite an extensive search, police couldn’t find him.

Later in the morning, a Stafford town officer spotted the 2001 Toyota Tacoma Prince was believed to be driving speed by the town green.
