With the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup coming up next September as well as the 2020 Summer Olympics, USA Basketball has announced the 29 athletes who will be part of the national team pool for the next three years.
As you might expect, there’s a heavy UConn flavor to the pool with ten players who have ties to the program, including two current players, as part of the national team pool.
Four-time Olympic gold medalists Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi headline the UConn contingent along with two-time Olympic goal medalists Tina Charles and Maya Moore.
