Kevin Ollie’s UConn Huskies notched a solid win in their season opener, which was no small feat considering last year’s failure to do so and a sudden suspension of the team’s best player. Jalen Adams’ absence placed an even greater onus on other members of the team to step up and a few new names answered the call.
Most importantly, the Huskies simply had the look of a solid, confident team. Given the disappointment of last year and the tumult which followed in the offseason, this is a really positive start.
