State trooper charged with drunken driving after Canton crash, police say

A state trooper has been charged with drunken driving after an off-duty crash in Canton earlier this month, police said.

Trooper Kenneth Dillon, of West Hartford was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and carrying a firearm while under the influence, they said. He also was cited for a traffic light violation.

According to Canton police, Dillon was involved in a two-car crash about 5 p.m. Feb. 2. The collision happened at the intersection of Albany Turnpike, or Route 44, and Cherry Brook Road, or Route 179.
