Troopers on Friday arrested an 18-year-old from Texas who state police said kidnapped two New Hampshire girls and was driving them through Hartford in a stolen car.
The unusual arrest happened about 10:15 a.m. on I-91 in the capital city, where troopers were strategically staged, waiting for the man to drive through with the girls, ages 12 and 17.
“Troopers devised a plan and conducted a traffic stop in a manner which prevented the accused from escaping,” state police said in a news release.
Cameron J. Snody of Fort Worth was pulled over on I-91 north at Exit 23.
