State police seek driver in deadly hit-and-run Saturday on I-95

NEW HAVEN — State police are searching for the driver of a car involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash just after midnight Saturday on I-95 in New Haven.

Ricardo Enrique Figueroa-Garcia, 19, of Dover Street in New Haven was pronounced dead on the scene after his motorcycle was struck from behind, and he was thrown onto I-95 northbound near exit 47.

Police said the operator of an 1991, 2-door, Acura Integra with New Jersey plates came up behind Figueroa-Garcia at a faster speed, attempted to change lanes and struck Figueroa-Garcia’s motorcycle. The Acura then continued north, stopped in the shoulder and the operator fled the scene on foot.
