State police are investigating a shooting involving a Stratford police officer Friday night after an incident on or near the Merritt Parkway and Main Street in the town.
Few details were immediately available late Friday night, but Exit 53 from the parkway and Main Street where it passes under the parkway both remained closed at 11 p.m., according to the Department of Transportation.
State police confirmed two hours later that the Western District Major Crimes Squad was called to respond to an officer-involved shooting, but neither state nor Stratford police had provided any other information at that point.
