State police investigate pedestrian’s death on I-691 in Meriden, seek public’s help

State police are asking for the public’s help in finding out how a pedestrian ended up dead Wednesday night on a Meriden highway.

Troopers were dispatched to I-691 west shortly after 8:30 p.m. The caller said someone appeared to be lying on the highway between exits 9 and 8.

When they arrived, they found a female victim who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, state police said. She was pronounced dead.
