A Middletown man accused of stabbing and slashing a woman eight times last month has been arrested again after he texted her repeatedly in violation of a no-contact order, police said.

Officers went to the Spring Street home of Jamie Nova O’Ryan, 37, about 3 p.m. Wednesday and took him into custody. He was charged with violation of a protective order, and his bail was set at $150,000, police said.

During his arraignment Thursday in Superior Court in Middletown, the bail was reduced to $75,000, according to Michael Gailor, Middlesex State’s Attorney.

According to the arrest report, the victim told police O’Ryan had been texting her all day Wednesday and she wanted him to stop.
