Speed appears to be factor in deadly motorcycle-truck crash, Hartford police say

Speed is believed to be a factor in a deadly collision in Hartford Monday night involving a motorcycle and a tractor trailer, police said.

The crash happened about 8:40 p.m., when Elisha Swanson-Asiam, 21, was riding a 2008 Yamaha R6 on Airport Road, at the on-ramp to I-91 south. The motorcycle and rig collided, and Swanson-Asiam died at the scene, they said.

Members of the police department’s Crime Scene Division is reconstructing the crash to find out how it happened. The road was closed between Locust Street and Brainard Road while they gathered evidence.
