South Windsor police: DNA on flashlight led detectives to burglary suspect

A flashlight left at the scene of a South Windsor burglary helped detectives identify a suspect, police said.

Senerth, 31, of Rimfield Drive was arrested Wednesday in Vernon and charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and with fifth-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny, police said.

Because he failed to complete burglaries at four homes, leaving empty-handed, he also was charged with four counts of criminal attempt to commit first-degree burglary and three counts of criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, they said.

In all, Senerth was arrested on six warrants, police said. He was in custody early Thursday on $350,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Rockville later in the day.
