A 911 caller reported the shooting around 7:15 p.m. on Shelton Street, between Read Street and Goodrich Street in New Haven. The location is about two blocks from the Albertus Magnus College campus.
An ambulance took a 28-year-old gunshot victim to Yale New Haven Hospital. He was listed in stable condition afterward, police Capt. Anthony Duff reported.
