Second body found after New Milford fishing accident; police identify both victims

NEW MILFORD — The bodies of two Danbury men, who appear to have been swept away by the Housatonic River in New Milford while fishing, have now been recovered -- the second Saturday morning by a boater -- and have been identified by police in New Milford.

Johnny Sanchez, 23, and Wilson Pacheco, 35, both of 37 Osbourne St. in Danbury, were fishing near the Bleachery Dam Wednesday night when it appeared one of the men fell into the river. The other man tried to rescue him but both were swept away by the river, police said.

Sanchez’s body was found Friday morning in the river.
