The UConn Huskies gave the No. 8 Wichita State Shockers all they could handle for about 35 minutes but let the game get away from them as they suffered a 72-62 loss at the XL Center in front of a sellout crowd in Hartford.
Kevin Ollie’s squad looked slightly better today - the defense was pretty sharp and at times the offense really clicked - but those moments were few and far between. We still saw long stretches without a field goal, poor shot selection, silly turnovers and bad ball movement. Some great individual efforts from Jalen Adams (18 points, six assists, five rebounds), Terry Larrier (18 points) and Christian Vital (17 points, five rebounds) kept the Huskies in this one.
