A man and woman wanted on kidnapping charges were captured Tuesday after they were located with a stolen vehicle in Hartford and the man attempted to kill himself before the pair’s arrest.
David M. O’Brien, 30, and Lauren R. Murphy, 31, were taken into custody by Farmington police and served warrants on a series of kidnapping, assault and robbery charges, police officials said Tuesday night.
O’Brien, who police said stabbed himself repeatedly in front of detectives, remained hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when Farmington investigators alerted Hartford police that the pair of suspects with active felony arrest warrants was believed to be in the South End in a carjacked vehicle, Hartford Lt.
