Kayakers discovered the body of a 22-year-old Hartford man this week on a Portland riverbank, almost one month after he jumped from the Founders Bridge into the Connecticut River.
The man died by suicide and authorities urged anyone experiencing feelings of distress or crisis to reach out to professionals for help.
“We are living in uncertain times. Please seek help if you or someone you know needs it,” Hartford Police Lt. Paul Cicero said. “We can all get through this together.”
The National Suicide Hotline is available 24 hours a day at 1-800-273-8255 to provide free, confidential support and resources to anyone in distress.
