Police investigate discovery of rat poison outside barking dog’s Suffield home

Police are trying to find out who left rat poison in a Suffield family’s yard after the family received anonymous complaints about one of their dogs.

The family members said their Great Pyrenees came up to one of the children between 8-9 a.m. Monday with a hot dog roll in its mouth. The dog dropped the bun and went to the front yard, where she retrieved a second one. The family soon discovered the roll contained pellets of rat poison stuck in peanut butter, Denise Pasquariello said.

The family got the dog checked out and she is fine.
