Police ask public to look for serial Stop & Shop robber

A reward of up to $1,500 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of a man who police said robbed Stop & Shops in Westport, Shelton, Norwalk and Fairfield in the past week.

While it may be hard to recognize the man from surveillance video because of his mask, he was driving a distinctive, bright blue car which police believe to be a late-model Hyundai Elantra with after-market rims, Westport Lt. Anthony Prezioso said Tuesday.

Police in four towns suspect this man walked into four Stop & Shops and robbed either a bank branch or customer service counter in the last week. The stores were in Fairfield, Norwalk, Shelton and Westport.
