Plymouth police: Man arrested after he tries to buy Corvette online with forged papers

A man who Plymouth police said tried to buy a $70,000 Corvette from a dealership online with forged documents was arrested Thursday.

Tavon Moyer, 38, of West Avenue in Stratford was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree larceny, forgery and identity theft, police said. He was in custody on $200,000 bail early Friday and was scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in New Britain later in the day.

A second man, Akil Jones, also 38, was charged with conspiring to commit first-degree larceny, police said. He was released on a promise to appear in court Oct.
