Plymouth police closing in on Buddy, the beefalo who has been on the run since escaping from a local slaughter house

More than five weeks after he escaped a date with the meat freezer, Buddy the beefalo remains free.

But cops are drawing the net tighter - - and they have a nice surprise for the half-ton bull once he is caught. With money raised from a GoFundMe page, Plymouth police will pay Buddy’s owner $6,000. The beefalo then will be transported to Critter Creek Farm Sanctuary in Gainesville, Fla., where Buddy can roam with dozens of other rescued farm animals, including many cows, and even some exotic friends.

“He gets to hang out with a water buffalo.
