Pennsylvania man arrested by Connecticut State Police in connection to kidnapping

A Pennsylvania man who police say was a robbery suspect traveling through Connecticut, was arrested and charged with first degree kidnapping and assault on a police officer Monday.

Around 2:15 p.m., state police were contacted by the Bethlehem (Pennsylvania) Police Department regarding a man wanted for an “extraditable warrant,” they said.

Troop G-Bridgeport officers were able to locate the car near Exit 48, and saw that the suspect, 41-year-old Jose Alberto Claudio Diaz, had also taken a 44-year-old woman across state lines against her will, state police said.

Diaz was transported to the Bridgeport Correctional Center and is being held on $300,000 bond.
