A man died over the weekend when the car he was in hit a tree and rolled over in Harwinton, state police said.
Raymond W. Winn, 65, of New Hartford was pronounced dead at the scene, they said. The driver, Randy Stadler, 59, of Winsted was taken to Waterbury Hospital to be treated for injuries that he was expected to survive.
According to the state police, the deadly crash happened on Route 8, south of Exit 42, shortly before 4:10 p.m. Saturday. Stadler was driving Winn’s 2006 Cadillac when he lost control, and the car went off the right side of the road.
