Party with 150-200 mostly maskless UConn students nets three renters a ticket for violating Gov. Lamont’s COVID-19 order

Three people were ticketed by state police Saturday night after allegedly hosting an off-campus party that drew 150 to 200 mostly maskless UConn students, in violation of Connecticut’s COVID-19 restrictions.

Police said the party violated Gov. Ned Lamont’s executive order limiting the size of indoor gatherings to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

State police officers from the Mansfield Resident Trooper’s office arrived at 160 Birch Road just before 11:30 p.m. and found what they said was “a large, loud party.”

“Upon arrival, troopers witnessed the disturbance and observed numerous college aged students inside the residence,’' state police said in a news release.
