One killed in single car accident in Coventry Friday

A motorist was killed Friday afternoon in Coventry when a car went off the road and hit a tree.

According to the Coventry police, a red Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south on Seagraves Road when it crossed the opposing travel lane, left the road and hit a tree around 4:30 p.m. The vehicle’s operator, who was not identified, was alone in the car and was extricated by the Coventry Fire Department and transported to Manchester Hospital, where the operator died.
