An East Hampton resident was killed on Saturday afternoon when his car struck a concrete bridge support on I-91 in Wallingford.
State Police identified David E. Valentine, 31, as the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that was traveling in the left lane of three on I-91 Northbound approximately one half mile south of Exit 14 in Wallingford around 3:05 p.m.
For an unknown reason, the car lost control, veered left, struck the wire rope guide rail along the left shoulder and continued into the center grassy median, where it struck the bridge support. When the car came to a stop, it ignited on fire.
