The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene on Pequot Avenue at about 1:40 a.m., police said.
Pequot Avenue remained closed as of 6 a.m. between Quinnepeag Avenue and Chapel Drive while investigators continued to work at the scene, police said.
Few other details were immediately available early Friday but police planned to release more information about the investigation later in the day.
