A crash involving an oil truck led to 3,000 gallons of fuel oil spilling at the base of Avon mountain Wednesday afternoon, state officials said.
A unit from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to the scene to assist in preventing the oil from reaching a nearby water source.
DEEP said the owner of the truck took responsibility for the spill and Environmental Services, Inc., has been called to assist with cleaning up the oil. T
