Almost two weeks after offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee left UConn for the same position at SMU, UConn football announced that offensive line coach J.B. Grimes resigned. He has already started as the offensive line coach at Auburn.
“I want to thank J.B. for his efforts during his time with us,” head coach Randy Edsall said in a statement. “I wish J.B and his family nothing but the best.”
Grimes spent just one season with the Huskies after working for the Cincinnati Bearcats in 2016. His connections in the south and experience at the position offered hope that UConn could improve in a positional group that has been a team weakness for a while.
