No. 9 Notre Dame Scores Late To Knock Off UConn Men’s Soccer, 1-0

UConn Men’s Soccer came very close to scoring an upset, but No. 9 Notre Dame proved too much for the Huskies, as the Fighting Irish took a 1-0 win in front of 4,542 at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Saturday night.

“It’s inexcusable for us to lose that game,” UConn head coach Ray Reid said. “We’re in the business of winning and these guys need to learn how to win.”

Scott Levene made three saves and though the Huskies were up 10-to-4 in shots, Notre Dame had more shots on target, 4-to-1.

The Huskies came out hard and knocked Notre Dame on their heels to begin the match and they carried that momentum throughout the first half.
