Officers were called to Dixwell Avenue between Elizabeth and Cherry Ann streets about 2:15 p.m. Monday, police said. The victim was no longer there: He had been rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital by private vehicle.
This is the second fatal shooting in New Haven in three days. On Saturday, a man was fatally shot as he sat in a parked car on Grand Avenue, police said. The car traveled a distance after the shooting and crashed.
