New Haven had its third deadly shooting in six days Wednesday night, police say; the latest victim was 18

An 18-year-old has died after being shot in New Haven Wednesday night, the latest to fall during a rising tide of gun violence in the city.

The shooting happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, near Edgewood Avenue. Officers arrived and found the man with a single gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

This is the third deadly shooting in New Haven since Friday; more than a half-dozen people were shot over six days, according to information provided by police.
