New Britain woman left deadly hit-and-run crash, went to family Christmas, warrant says

Investigators discovered a New Britain woman left the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash on Christmas Eve and went with her boyfriend to celebrate the holiday with family, an arrest warrant released Friday shows.

New Britain police charged Jackeline Ruiz Rosario, 35, with evading responsibility causing death in connection with the crash that killed 59-year-old Richard Christenson, who was walking on 150 Columbus Blvd. when he was hit by a car.

Police also charged Rosario’s boyfriend, 42-year-old Luis Flores, with interfering with an investigation, tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.

Members of the police department’s Traffic Safety Bureau were called to Columbus Boulevard about 5:30 p.
