New Britain police seize 1.5 kilos of fentanyl, handgun from suspected drug dealer

New Britain police seized 1.5 kilos of fentanyl and a handgun Thursday after an investigation into a massive local drug operation, police announced Friday.

Dennis Rodriguez, 36, was arrested and charged with operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm, and possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell, according to police.

“This is incredible work done by our Police Department to get these deadly and addictive drugs off of our streets,” Mayor Erin Stewart said in a statement.
