Natural gas service cut in West Hartford while CNG checks homes to investigates a “pressure issue”

West Hartford police said Connecticut Natural Gas has temporarily shut off natural gas to about 50 homes in the areas of Timrod Road, Brookside Drive, and Cliffmore Road late Sunday morning while the company looks for what it described as “gas line pressure issue.”

“CNG reports there is no need for evacuations, and there is no danger to the public,” the police department said in a statement. ”When CNG turns the gas service back on, they need to enter each home to turn on each service individually.”

Shortly after noon Sunday, the police department said the gas company had already cleared about have the homes they hoped to check.
