Michael Paul Nazza, 33, of Bethany was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which was near Exit 64, they said.
Nazza was headed south about 6:45 p.m. when he lost control and was thrown from his 1976 Yamaha. He landed on a part of the road that was not lit and was struck by at least one oncoming vehicle, state police said. It was dark at the time, police said; they don’t know what caused him to lose control.
