A Wallingford teen was found dead Sunday in Community Lake, 10 days after his family reported him missing, and police are investigating his death as a homicide.
Two kayakers on the lake found a partially submerged body at about 1 p.m. Sunday and notified authorities.
The body was removed and police identified it as that of 17-year-old Nolvin Diaz while they secured the scene, Lt. Cheryl Bradley said Monday.
“Based on the evidence at the scene, detectives are investigating this as a homicide,” Bradley said. “The Connecticut State Police were called in to assist with the crime scene and they have divers in the lake [Monday], looking for any additional evidence as our detectives continue with the investigation.
