A driver died in a head-on crash with a tractor trailer in Winchester Friday morning, police said.
The collision happened about 6:45 a.m. on Route 8, or North Main Street. Police said the minivan was headed north and the truck was traveling south when they collided.
The driver of the minivan, a Winsted resident, was thrown from the vehicle and died, they said. Police withheld the person’s name until family members can be notified.
The truck driver was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police said.
