Michael Beaudry named UConn starting quarterback

It will be a tall task to fill the shoes of David Pindell, but Michael Beaudry will be the one stepping up to the task. On Tuesday morning, head coach Randy Edsall announced on Twitter that Beaudry will be the starter as the team begins preparing for Wagner in the season opener.

In 2017, Beaudry put up over 3,000 passing yards with 29 touchdowns as he led Division II West Florida to the national championship game. In 2018, he broke his foot in the first game and missed the entire rest of the season.

Beaudry joined the Huskies this past offseason as a graduate transfer and is expected to have two years of eligibility at UConn assuming he receives an extension for a sixth year given his injury.
