Maryland man will be charged in incident Friday on train tracks in Guilford; Amtrak service temporarily interrupted

GUILFORD — Amtrak service on the Shoreline East route was interrupted early Friday evening in an incident involving a Maryland man on the train tracks who police said was attempting to harm himself and a child who was with him.

Ari Gejdenson, 38, of Maryland will be charged with risk of injury, reckless endangerment in the first degree, interfering with police, trespass in the first degree and attempted assault in the first degree, police said. Gejdenson was being held in custody on a $250,000 bond and will be arraigned in New Haven, they said.
