Ansonia police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate an early morning shooting Saturday that injured a man.
A 26-year-old resident was on the side of the road near 20 Lester St. when he was shot around 1:10 a.m., police said.
Police were called about the shooting, and found the victim conscious and on the sidewalk. He had been shot once in the lower body.
The victim told arriving officers that he’d been shot by someone inside a dark-colored car as it drove down Lester Street. The driver sped away afterward, the victim said.
