Simsbury police and the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are investigating a incident in which a black bear bit a dog and man who were on a trail in the McClean Game Refuge.
Police said the incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m on Sunday. The man was walking three dogs when the bear bit one of them. The man tried to intervene and was bitten on the leg, police said. The man, who police did not identify, was not seriously injured, police said.
